Richard C. Smith, MD
Dr. Richard Smith is a board-certified gynecologist and a fellow of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He is the retired founder and partner of Barrington Health Care for Women, a three-location obstetrics and gynecology practice started in 1979. He is currently the founder, director, and independent contractor of Smith Medical, Ltd., providing health care advice to Signify Health, LLC. In 1991, he founded the Future Physicians Program at Good Shepherd Hospital, a summer internship for students interested in pursuing medical careers.
He is a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Creighton University School of Medicine. From 1972 to 1979, he served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy.
